Laurel Believes It Takes a Village

Had been at the playground yesterday for 10 minutes when another mom was trying to leave with her little girl. "Bella, it's time to go." "Bella, I mean right now." A pause. "Bella, I have cookies!"

Laurel's head pops up and she yells, "Okay, I'm coming!" and starts running across the park.

Good heavens.

Luke says she's very much my daughter. It's true that I'd do most anything for a baked good!

Now if she had said "I have pie", I might have crossed the playground too. What a sweetie. We'll be sure to have cookies here - and root beer and ice cream and green kool-aid. This will be such a good visit. Love Opa.

I LOVE this story. I read it to Matt last night after we'd had a "conversation" and were both tired and cranky and it had us both laughing out loud for at least a minute - what a funny girl. Thanks for sharing! And I hope the house/moving process is going well!
