Halloween or Bust

Store-sourced costumes this year, much to my chagrin. Laurel and Anne's were either gifts or hand-me-downs, and I had to get Dean a knight costume after realizing post-October birthdays and house packing, that the random sword and shield he was running around with didn't make him look like a knight..and goodness knows I wasn't going to get all jiggy with aluminum foil hoping to create some sort of breastplate..fortunately Melissa and Doug costumes were 40% off the day of!  Whew!

Black Tie!

Love the Scholarship Ball!  Fun with a loose up-do created by my 70-year old beautician friend.

Thank you, Ronald McDonald House

They gave us zoo tickets to use after her recuperation; we enjoyed a beautiful October Saturday posing like animals.

Santa Fe is almost as cool as Austin

Since reading Willa Cather's "Death Comes for the Archbishop", Luke and I have been desperate to see more of the Southwest, and his work conference provided the means. Great botanical gardens, great food, great downtown!

Flat Daddy

"It was just like a vacation"

"I could order whatever food I wanted and watch movies all day.  With only a few ow-ies."
